EPI seeks to accelerate broad use of energy management systems (EnMS) in industry and commercial buildings worldwide. Companies implementing
EnMS into their existing business systems, enable organizations to better manage their energy, sustain achieved savings, and continuously
improve energy performance.

Energy management systems help an organization institutionalize the policies, procedures, and tools to systematically track, analyze, and
improve energy efficiency—leading to continual improvements in energy performance. In response to growing concerns about energy and
sustainability, a rapidly growing number of organizations around the world are adopting energy management systems, many of which comply with the
internationally recognized ISO 50001 standard. By simply changing how energy is managed, industry and the commercial buildings sectors can
significantly increase their energy productivity. Use of energy management systems can save up to 30% of total energy use in industry and up to
40% in commercial building.
